CDF secure bike funding

11 April 2018

Club Doncaster Foundation are pleased to have secured funding to deliver their cycling activities in the community for a further 12 months.

Both DMBC and Yorkshire Bike Libraries have agreed to extend the funding, which allows Doncaster residents to access free bike hire as well as donating unwanted bikes to be recycled and used in the community.

There are a range of adult and children’s bikes and equipment available to borrow from Club Doncaster Foundation’s bike library, free of charge.

Health and wellbeing coordinator, Scott Copeland Said:

" Never has the link between the two pots of funding worked so seamlessly as it did last week. On Monday a local school came to donate 5 bikes, having just purchased new ones. On Tuesday our mechanic Mark made the adjustments necessary and on Wednesday these same bike were used in the community to teach adults how to safely ride on the roads."

During the Easter holidays, the demand for bikes has been particularly high with families hiring bikes and trailers to explore the local area.

If you are interested in borrowing a bike, all you need is photo ID and a £10 deposit, which will be refunded when you return the bike.

For more information about how to borrow one, how to donate one, or the activities provided by Club Doncaster Foundation, contact the team on 01302 764663 / scott.copeland@clubdoncasterfoundation.co.uk.
