Club Doncaster Foundation add ex Super League star to coaching team

Club Doncaster Foundation are delighted to welcome Super League star Rhys Lovegrove to their team of community coaches.

A former professional rugby league player for the likes of Hull KR, London Broncos and Bradford Bulls, Rhys brings a wealth of experience to the team and will be delivering the Sky Try programme, which is funded by the RFL.

Rhys is already part of Club Doncaster, having been strength and conditioning coach at Doncaster Rugby League.

He puts pen to paper just in time for the 2017/18 academic year, where he will also be leading the development of the Dons Academy at Club Doncaster Sports College.

Rhys said: “Having played rugby my entire career I was looking for a way to continue working in the sport but help with the development of the grass roots game and introduce kids to how fun and life changing rugby can be.

“I believe that working with Club Doncaster Foundation gives the perfect opportunity to work with the local community and increase kids involvement with the sport.

“I’m also delighted to be able to develop the academy team at Club Doncaster Sports College. It gives me an opportunity to create a pathway for some of the young talented players at the sports college to become professional rugby league players.”

Rhys will now split his time between the Foundation and his role with the Dons.
