Doncaster Kicks heading to Parkwood Academy

Doncaster Kicks are heading to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday to compete in the Northern PL Kicks tournament.

Joined by the likes of Newcastle, Leeds United, Sunderland and Barnsley, a team from Balby Carr Kicks will represent Doncaster Rovers for the chance to win some great prizes.

The annual event is part of the Premier League’s flagship community programme, PL Kicks and encourages children from across the nation to get involved in constructive activities.

Club Doncaster Foundation’s Kicks coordinator, Mark Cooper said: “It’s fantastic that events like these are so accessible for young aspiring footballers in Doncaster.

“It’s clear what an impact regular sessions have on the borough, so it’s important to showcase that in tournaments too, and I think this one will be great for the lads.”

The tournament is a 6-aside event is on Saturday 27 at Parkwood Academy and will also host healthy eating, smoothie and bike workshops to keep players entertained in between games.
