Matty Blair inspires Club Doncaster Sports College

Club Doncaster Sports College students were welcomed back from half term on Monday with a special visitor.

Doncaster Rovers star, Matty Blair spent the afternoon answering questions and giving advice to the sports students, who are working hard to pave a career path in the industry.

Keen to pick the brain of the Rovers winger, the students asked course specific questions to help with their studies.

Delighted with their engagement, Principle of the college, Adi Turnpenny commented: “It’s a fantastic opportunity that we have access to professional athletes that can come in and share their experiences; the students always learn so much from the Q&As.

They can ask questions that link directly to their course and then use the answers as part of their case studies.”

As well as helping with their studies, Matty also helped to inspired the group with their own experiences.

Matty said during the Q&A: “If you’d asked me five years ago where I’d be now, I wouldn’t have dreamed I’d be stood in front of you as a professional footballer, I know it’s cliché but it’s honestly about working as hard as you can.”

“If you work hard enough and are passionate enough you can achieve anything you set your mind to and I fully believe that.”
