Prince's Trust success at Club Doncaster Sports College
Club Doncaster Sports College are delivering their annual ‘get started with football’ programme through the Prince’s Trust.
The week-long programme at the Keepmoat Stadium is completely free and allows learners to develop knowledge in different aspects of the sport.
Along with a variety of workshops such as officiating, competition formats and preparing a session, the learners also gain a First Aid qualification by completing the week.
Prince’s Trust leader and Head of Year 12, Ben Thompson commented: “The Prince’s Trust is really important for the Sports College because it allows new learners to apply themselves in sporting context prior to the academic year.
We find the Prince’s Trust raises confidence of the leaders and aids retention and engagement on the academic courses through the year.”
This year, the college has welcomed 20 young people to take part in Prince’s Trust, all who enjoy a week of classroom-based workshops followed by practical sessions using the fantastic facilities at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Prince’s Trust help 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives and this is just one example of the projects they allow.
