Rovers Roadshow hit with schools
Club Doncaster Foundation partner schools were treated to special visitors from Doncaster Rovers this week.
John Marquis, Alfie May, Marko Marosi, Tyler Garratt, Rodney Kongolo and Alfie Beestin took time out of their busy training schedule to visit schools across the borough and invite them to Saturday’s fixture against MK Dons.
As part of the visit, the stars hosted a Q&A session with the children, answering questions about resilience in football, which links to their PL Primary Stars project they are working on in PE.
Delighted with the initiative, Schools Coordinator, Kelly Jackson said: “The children’s face when they meet their hero is what this is all about for me. It’s fantastic that we can inspire so many young minds.
We deliver some fantastic projects in schools and the kids we work with are always so engaged, but we are also in the very fortunate position that we can top the delivery off with a player visit. We’re very grateful to the club that we can continue this.”
Bentley High Street Primary, Auckley and Barnby Dunn schools were the three to host the Doncaster Rovers players as part of a string of visits on the ‘Rovers Roadshow’.
The remainder of partner schools will also host Rovers stars as part of the project, which runs monthly into the new year.
